AKRON, Ohio – He said it, but few believed him. Had Ross Fisher’s wife, Jo, went into labor with the couple’s first child during that historic final round at the Open Championship the Englishman had a plan in place to immediately leave Turnberry and fly home for the birth.

Luckily, Eve Rose Fisher arrived on July 25, ten days past her due date and Fisher has been at home in England with baby and mother ever since. Fisher, who's playing this week at Bridgestone Invitational, will play next week’s PGA Championship before taking three weeks off to resume his daddy duties.

“When I finish next Sunday (at Hazeltine National) golf can be in the back of my mind,” Fisher said.
