FHP not seeking Woods medical files

The Florida Highway Patrol moved Monday afternoon to cut off reports the agency plans to obtain a search warrant for Tiger Woods’ medical files.

'Contrary to various media reports, the Florida Highway Patrol has not made any comments regarding the details of the ongoing crash investigation involving Tiger Woods as it relates to medical information, or any other aspect of this investigation,” FHP spokeswoman Kim Montes said in an e-mail.

TMZ.com reported early Monday that FHP officers visited Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Fla., searching for information regarding Woods’ injuries sustained early last Friday when his SUV crashed into a fire hydrant and tree adjacent his Isleworth home.

Woods broke his silence on Sunday via a statement on his Web site:  “This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.”

According to Monday’s release from FHP, “the crash investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.”
