PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem has been named chairman of the World Golf Foundation’s Board of Directors for 2014. Finchem succeeds LPGA commissioner Mike Whan, who served as board chairman in 2013.
“It is an honor to be selected as chairman and I’m looking forward to working closely with our game’s leaders to address issues of global importance,” Finchem, in his 20th year at Tour commissioner, said in a release. “Golf has never been healthier worldwide, and it is our responsibility to ensure its continued vitality.”
The other board members are PGA CEO Pete Bevacqua, USGA executive director Mike Davis, R&A chief executive Peter Dawson, Masters Tournament Foundation executive director Will Jones and European Tour chief executive George O’Grady.
