THOUSAND OAKS, Calf. – Jim Furyk was named the PGA Tour Player of the Year on Saturday at the Chevron World Challenge.
Furyk, who led the circuit with three victories in 2010 and collected the $10 million FedEx Cup bonus, edged Matt Kuchar, who won the money list; Phil Mickelson, the only Tour member with a major (Masters), and six others with at least two victories for the hardware.
It is the second time in three years the winner of the money list didn’t claim the Jack Nicklaus Award. Padraig Harrington won the 2008 trophy
The Tour was expected to announce this year’s Rookie of the Year and Nationwide Tour Player of the Year at 7:30 p.m. (ET).
