Graeme McDowell got off to a good start at the Andalucia Masters on Thursday, carding an opening 68 for the early lead, but the Northern Irishman may want to pace himself considering his itinerary the next few weeks.

The Andalucia Masters is the first of seven consecutive tournaments for the U.S. Open champion, a run that will include next week’s WGC-HSBC Champions in China, the Dubai World Championship (Nov. 25-28) in the United Arab Emirates, the Chevron World Challenge (Dec. 2-5) in California and the Shark Shootout (Dec. 10-12) in Florida followed by a “big vacation” (three weeks off) before he starts 2011 in Hawaii.

That’s four continents in seven weeks, for those keeping track.

“I’m a busy man,” McDowell smiled last week.
