Garcia positioned for second straight Tour win

RSS

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – When it rains, it pours.

At least, that’s what Sergio Garcia is hoping.

One week after claiming his first PGA Tour victory in more than four years, Garcia is again in position to secure a trophy, taking a two-stroke lead into the final round of The Barclays.

“I just want to go out there and try to play the way I've been playing, try to believe in what I'm doing as much as I've been doing, and if I manage to win, that will be great,” he said. “If I don't, it will still be great. I'll be giving it my best effort, so we'll see.”

Garcia posted a third-round 2-under 69 that featured five birdies. He will again be in the final pairing with Nick Watney, teeing off at 1:40 p.m. ET on Sunday.

As for his strategy, well, Garcia has it all figured out.

“Shoot one less than the guy that finishes second,” he said with a laugh. “It's simple as that.”
