Glover nearly grounded

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland – Lucas Glover has taken some shots in his day, but Monday at the Open Championship was nearly a TKO.

During a practice round on the Old Course on Monday Glover was hit on the right cheek when Justin Leonard’s shot veered wildly off line.

Glover teed off just past 8 a.m. on Tuesday along with Davis Love III and Steve Marino and seemed to have fully recovered from the blow.

“Caught it right here (right cheek),” said Mac Barnhardt, Glover’s manager with Crown Sports Management. “He’s fine. Don’t think it even left a mark.”
