Going public at the Olympics

SAN FRANCISCO – “Shag Bag” had an extended conversation with Tour de las Americas commissioner Henrique Lavie regarding possible venues for golf’s Olympic start in Rio at the 2016 Games this afternoon.

“It should be a public golf course,” Lavie said. “Look at Harding Park, it may not be the best course in San Francisco, but it’s public and perfect for this event.”

Point taken, but it’s worth noting that Harding Park isn’t even the best course on this block (that honor would belong to The Olympic Club or San Fransisco Golf Club, depending on who you ask), but it’s still very good.
