Green cards 68, maintains LPGA Q-School lead

Jaye Marie Green continues to set the pace at the final stage of LPGA Q-School.

Green’s 4-under-par 68 Thursday at LPGA International’s Hills Course in Daytona Beach, Fla., helped her stay atop the leaderboard with a two-round total of 14-under 130. She’s five shots ahead of Vanderbilt graduate Megan Grehan (68) and six ahead of Tiffany Joh (70) and Seon Hwa Lee (70), the LPGA’s 2006 Rookie of the Year.

Green, 19, finished 29th on the Symetra Tour money list this year. She opened play on Wednesday with a Jones Course record 62.

Amy Anderson, who won an NCAA record 20 titles at North Dakota State, shot 69 and sits fifth, seven shots back. The top 20 scores after Sunday’s conclusion of the 90-hole event will earn LPGA exempt status for next year. The next 25 and ties earn conditional status.

China’s 17-year-old standout Xiyu Lin shot 71 and is tied for 11th, 10 shots back. Cheyenne Woods, niece to Tiger Woods, shot 73 and is tied for 122nd.
