PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Interesting dichotomy on the Pebble Beach practice tee as Sunday morning turns to early afternoon.
Butch Harmon stood watchful over Phil Mickelson as he readied for his closing round at the U.S. Open. Just a few stalls to the left stood Ernie Els and Tiger Woods, both former Harmon students. While one stall to the right was Dustin Johnson, your 54-hole leader and the newest member of the Harmon stable who was readying by himself.
In Harmon’s defense, after Lefty’s third-round 73 he is the guy who most needs the help right now.
