Harrington unaware but honest

CHASKA, Minn. – The two majors players from Sunday's showdown at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational met with reporters Tuesday here at the PGA Championship.

Tiger Woods said he was not fined by the PGA Tour for his comments about being put on the clock for slow play on the 16th hole with Padraig Harrington. Woods continued his stance of saying the warning was not warranted and that it affected Harrington's play on the par-5 16th, where he made triple bogey 8 to essentially lose the tournament.

Harrington was asked if he was surprised that Woods -- normally not one to take a strong stance on an issue – was so direct in his comments.

'I didn't read any of his comments,' Harrington said. 'As normal, I don't read anything written about anything I'm involved in. I haven't done it in some 18 years, so I have no idea what was said.'

Usually when people say they don't read what's written about them I don't believe them, just like when players say they don't look at leaderboards down the stretch of big events. But for some reason, when Paddy says it, I believe him.
