Hedwall improves to 4-0, ready for Wie on Sunday

PARKER, Colo. – The first thing you need to know about Caroline Hedwall is that she’s “really a bad loser.”

The second thing you need to know is that Hedwall prefers to take down either Paula Creamer or Cristie Kerr in singles Sunday at the Solheim Cup.

Michelle Wie is going to have to suffice.

Hedwall is a perfect 4-0 in these Solheim Cup matches and will attempt to become the first Solheim Cup player from either Europe or the U.S. to ever record a 5-0 record when she plays Wie in singles.

“It’s been a great two days so far and I’m just enjoying it,” Hedwall said. “It will be fun to play singles tomorrow as well.”

On Day 1, Hedwall paired with Anna Nordqvist to beat Stacy Lewis and Lizette Salas, 4 and 2, in foursomes and paired with Caroline Masson to take down Angela Stanford and Gerina Piller, 2 and 1, in fourballs. On Day 2, she and Nordqvist best Morgan Pressel and Jessica Korda, 2 and 1, in foursomes and paired with Masson in fourballs to beat Korda and Wie, 2 and 1.

This is Hedwall’s second Solheim Cup. Her career record is now a whopping 6-1-1.
