SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. – I.K. Kim is back on a major championship leaderboard.
With a 4-under-par 68 at Sebonack Golf Club, Kim is two shots off the lead at the U.S. Women’s Open. She had a share of the first-round lead for a long while on Thursday, her first time back atop a major championship leaderboard since her hopes of winning the Kraft Nabisco Championship last year were stunningly dashed after she missed a 14-inch putt at the 72nd hole.
How eager is she for another chance to win a major?
“I'm just really happy with my life,” Kim said. “It's great to win a major championship, but I'm not really pushing anything. I just got to go out and play my game.”
