Irons working for Overton driver not so much

RSS

NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. – Following his second-round 68 at the AT&T National Jeff Overton gushed about his new Mizuno irons saying, “I’m really working them well and have been able to bend them out of the trees.”

Although that may be a ringing endorsement of the club’s ability, it’s not exactly the marketing scheme one would want for a driver. For the record, Overton hit just eight of 14 fairways on Friday. The good news? That was twice as many as he hit on Thursday.
