Its all in the wrist

NORTON, Mass. – Camilo Villegas hit a series of drivers without flinching while warming up for his pro-am round Thursday at the Deutsche Bank Championship.

It was a good sign following his withdrawal from The Barclays last week with a left wrist injury after nine holes in the second round. He showed no signs of discomfort in his warmup.

“I’m feeling good,” Villegas said before dashing off to tee it up in the pro-am.

Villegas hurt the wrist six days ago weight lifting before the first round of The Barclays. He hurt it again hitting from the rough eight holes into his second round.

Villegas set up his strong FedEx Cup playoff run last year with a good start at the Deutsche Bank Championship. He tied for third at TPC Boston and then went on to win the final two FedEx Cup playoff events, the BMW Championship and the Tour Championship. Villegas dropped from 35th in last week’s FedEx Cup points standings to 50th this week.
