It's Coyote ugly at Canadian Women's Open

It is getting Coyote ugly at this week’s CN Canadian Women’s Open.

Coyotes have been seen all week wandering onto Vancouver Golf Club during the LPGA event, even loping across fairways in front of players. Though no coyote has picked up a golf ball in the event, they were seen walking up and sniffing balls struck by players during the pro-am.

The Coyotes have been a menace for Canadian Broadcast Corporation crew staging telecast of the event. Television company executives told the Vancouver Sun that coyotes have been chewing through their fiber optic cables that lie on the back nine. The company has had to replace four lines so far this week.

“We basically come in each morning and see what lines fire up,” producer Larry Isaac told the newspaper.
