The 2015 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship will be held at John’s Island Club in Vero Beach, Fla., it was announced Monday. The dates of the championship are Oct. 3-8.

Located about 90 miles southeast of Orlando, John’s Island Club’s West (Pete Dye design) and North (Tom Fazio) courses will be used for the event. The West Course will be used for the match-play portion.

It’s the first time that the USGA has brought the Mid-Am to Florida.

The Mid-Am, first played in 1981, is open to male amateurs age 25 and older with a USGA handicap of 3.4 or less.

This year, the Mid-Am will be held at the Country Club of Birmingham, with Saucon Valley Country Club hosting the 2014 edition.
