Justice used to be doled out in locker rooms

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Doug Ford says discipline was different in his day.

The 88-year-old inductee into the World Golf Hall of Fame said players didn’t hand out justice in boarding meetings. They did it in the locker room.

“I saw [Sam] Snead take one of the players and put him in the locker for something he did,” Ford said. “We always did it out of the public’s eye. They had a lot of feeling for the tour. They didn’t want to do anything to hurt the tour. So, if something happened, it went into the locker room.

'It would get heated.”
