Kelly will try to give Stricker a target

NORTON, Mass. – It’s Jerry Kelly’s turn to be the rabbit again today.

He knows how his friend Steve Stricker likes to hunt, so he’ll try to give him something to shoot at Saturday at the Deutsche Bank Championship.

The Wisconsin boys try to help each other out whenever they can.

“Every time I know he’s going off before me, I tell him to put something on the board for me to chase,” Kelly said. “He does the same kind of thing. We have fun with that. It’s something to pull each other along a little bit.”

Kelly goes off at 12:58 p.m. on Saturday on the 10th tee, Stricker at 1:10 p.m. on the first tee. They both live in Madison, Wis. Kelly went to high school there with Stricker's wife,

The arrangement worked pretty well on Friday. Kelly went off first and birdied three of the first four holes. Stricker didn’t take long to pass him with birdies on eight of his first 13 holes on his way to a 63. Kelly shot 66.
