PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Cristie Kerr and Paula Creamer.

That might be the most intriguing pairing Sunday at the Wegmans LPGA Championship.

Kerr and Creamer were paired to go off together at 1:44 p.m. in the final round at Locust Hill Country Club. Kerr’s four shots back, Creamer is three back, but both are feeling good about their games as they try to push each other to make early charges.

Both players are highly motivated having gone winless in almost two years.

Kerr’s bidding for her first title since winning this event two years ago, Creamer her first since winning the U.S. Women’s Open in the summer of 2010.

They happened to have been the only players to hold the top American spot in the Rolex World Rankings until Stacy Lewis passed them this year.

Kerr and Creamer both spoke Saturday night about posting numbers early for the leaders to see.

“I think I’m in a perfect position to let [the leaders] have all the pressure on them in the last couple groups and maybe I can post a number,” Kerr said.

Creamer said: “I’m going to try my hardest to go out and make birdies.”

Creamer’s ball striking is solid this week, but she needs to get her putting going early. She hit 16 greens in regulation Saturday but took 35 putts to shoot 1-over-par 73.

Kerr is one of the best putters on tour.
