Kerr eyeing LPGA Championship record

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Look out Betsy King.

Cristie Kerr’s coming after you.

Kerr’s 3-under-par 69 in miserable conditions Saturday bumped her to an eight-shot lead at the LPGA Championship. King holds the record for largest margin of victory in this championship. She won by 11 in 1992 at Bethesda Country Club in Maryland.

Azahara Munoz, tied for second at Locust Hill, was asked if the championship was over, barring a miracle.

“Probably,” she said. “She is playing amazing. I want to ask her what her secret is. Being 13-under is amazing.”
