KOHLER, Wis. – Cristie Kerr posted a second consecutive round in red numbers in the U.S. Women’s Open at Blackwolf Run.
With a 1-under-par 71 Friday, Kerr is in position to make a weekend run at winning this championship for the second time.
At 4-under, Kerr left the scoring trailer just a shot behind the leader, Suzann Pettersen.
Kerr has a Saturday game plan.
“I have to go out and take care of my own job and forget about what everybody else is doing.” Kerr said. “It's not like football, where you can tackle somebody, right? It's not like the Green Bay Packers up here.”
Kerr won the U.S. Women’s Open in 2007 at Pine Needles. It’s among her five finishes in this event of T-4 or better.
