Anthony Kim could miss five months with an assortment of injuries that he sustained when he hit a rock during a swing at last month’s Texas Open.
According to a statement from Kim, he is suffering from tendinitis in his left forearm and pain in his right elbow and will likely be on the disabled list until the Fall Series.
Kim withdrew from the Wells Fargo Championship earlier this month and after consulting with doctors at the Cleveland Clinic, determined that treatment and rehabilitation, not surgery, would be needed.
This will be Kim’s second prolonged stint on the DL. Following his victory at the 2010 Houston Open he had surgery on his left thumb and missed three months and the Ryder Cup.
Kim has struggled this season playing just 10 events, missing four cuts, three withdrawals and a disqualification (at the Northern Trust Open) and his best finish was a tie for 42nd at the Honda Classic.
