Nearly five months after undergoing brain surgery, Jeff Klauk will return to professional golf next week.
Klauk, who underwent the procedure in April 20 (in which doctors inserted 108 electrodes into his brain), is playing the Web.com Tour’s Albertson’s Boise Open. He has suffered from epileptic seizures since 2006.
“I’m going out there to try and win, or else I couldn’t go,” Klauk, 34, told the Florida Times-Union. “I’ve been working hard and practice just as much as I ever did.”
The Boise Open is the first of five rehab starts that Klauk will play as part of the Web.com Tour’s major medical exemption.
“If everything goes well, I’ll be looking forward to play at home (at the Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open),” Klauk said. “The support and prayers from this community have been unbelievable.”
