RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Fifteen-year-old Lydia Ko won’t be the youngest player to tee it up this week at the Kraft Nabisco Championship after all.

Angel Yin, 14, qualified Tuesday winning the Kraft Nabisco Legends Junior event. Yin shot a 67 to better 29 other juniors on the Mission Hills’ Palmer Course.

Yin, of Arcadia, Calif., will tee it up with South Korea’s Ji Young Oh in the first two rounds.

Yin is the ninth amateur to make it into this week’s field. The Kraft Nabisco has a strong amateur tradition with sponsor exemptions extended to a hand full of amateurs every year. Ko is among eight amateurs who are playing on sponsor invites this week. Ko, who turns 16 on April 24, is the youngest winner of an LPGA event and a Ladies European Tour event. She won the LPGA’s CN Canadian Women’s Open last summer and the LET’s ISPS Handa New Zealand Women’s Open in February of this year.

The other amateurs playing this week are Georgia Hall of England, Camilla Hedberg of Spain, Stephanie Meadow or Ireland, Isabelle Lendl of Goshen, Conn., Doris Chen of Bradenton, Fla., Ashlan Ramsey of Milledgville, Ga., and Lindy Duncan of Plantation, Fla.
