Late matches could be the key

SAN FRANCISCO – The International side’s fate may come down to the last two matches today and it’s hard not to like Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker playing Geoff Ogilvy and an unproven teen. That means Retief Goosen and Y.E. Yang will need to hold their own against Jim Furyk and Justin Leonard in the day’s anchor match.

We caught up with Yang’s affable swing coach Brian Mogg on Wednesday who said his man has emerged from his post-PGA fog and could surprise some people today.

Mogg said Yang was exhausted after Hazeltine National, not finishing better than 18th (Tour Championship) since his major breakthrough, but the South Korean is “close” to where he was at the PGA this week.
