Lifes harder now on LPGA moms

OAKMONT, Pa. – Juli Inkster feels for LPGA pros who would like to follow her model in how to balance motherhood and a pro career.

Inkster has two daughters: Hayley, 20, and Cori, 16.

“I’m not sure if I was starting a family right now if I would continue to play,” Inkster said. “I was very fortunate that I could bring my kids. They traveled with me every week.”

The nature of the LPGA schedule has changed drastically, with so many more international events today and so many fewer domestic events than in Inkster’s prime.

“It’s just too hard to bring your kids to Thailand and Singapore and Mexico and Asia and travel around the world with them,” Inkster said. “I was very fortunate to raise my kids in the era I raised them.”
