ORLANDO, Fla. – Ran into one longtime swing coach mid-day Saturday at Bay Hill who mentioned how demanding some of the third-round pin positions were.
According to the pin sheet, there are five holes on the back nine that are tucked five paces or less from the edge of the putting surface.
“We’re on the PGA Tour, they are going to put them three or four (paces) from the side,” said Kevin Streelman, who moved up the leaderboard with a 68. “Wait until you see them (Sunday). No. 17 will be really tough behind that bunker and No. 14 . . . it will be impossible to hit it inside 20 feet.”
Tough words for a course that was playing more than a shot (1.194) over par on Saturday. So much for the softer side of Bay Hill.
