AUGUSTA, Ga. – Italy’s Matteo Manassero, at 16 the youngest player to make the cut at the Masters, isn’t long for the amateur ranks.
Manassero plans to make his professional debut in May at the Italian Open. It’s one of seven special invites the British Amateur champ hopes to use to win his European Tour card. If he can’t win the card on special invites, he’ll try European Tour Q-School at the end of the year and the Challenge Tour.
Matteo says he has two years of school left. He’s home-schooling “off the Internet.”
