The four-year agreement will extend the relationship through 2016. The credit card company has been presenting sponsor of the Bay Hill event since 2004 and involved in sponsorship with the PGA and Champions tours since 1995.
“With the announcement of the four more years and of course (Tim) Finchem and the PGA Tour working closely with MasterCard and our sponsors, I am most appreciative of all the things that are happening,” Arnold Palmer said.
In the eight years since the relationship began, Mastercard has raised $1.8 million for the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Childen. As an added bonus this week, MasterCard will make a $200,000 contribution to the hospital if one of the MasterCard sponsored players – Graeme Mcdowell, Ian Poulter, Brandt Snedeker or Camilo Villegas – win the event.
