DORAL, Fla. – It’s not so much a superstition as it is habitual behavior that will see reigning Masters champion Angel Cabrera return to the same house he stayed in last year when he heads to Augusta National next month.
According to sources inside the Cabrera camp, the defending champion likes the location and the kitchen at his 2009 digs. As for the Champions Dinner, Cabrera has enlisted the services of an Argentine chef who owns a south Florida restaurant to prepare the feast.
Cabrera’s choice for the Tuesday night gathering? “A good Argentina Asado, some good beef,” he recently said.
It’s fortunate that, as far as we know, there are no vegetarians among the list of former Masters champions.
