KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Keegan Bradley’s victory on Sunday at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational freed up a spot into this week’s field at the PGA Championship and secured William McGirt a start at the season’s final major.
Next up on the alternate list is Chris Stroud, who according to his manager with Crown Sports Management made the trip to Kiawah on Monday to prepare.
A quick glance at the potential WD list this week should give Stroud encouragement. Ben Crane, who withdrew from last week’s World Golf Championship on Saturday with a back ailment, and Robert Karlsson, who pulled out of last month’s British Open with “bad habits,” are both in this week’s field.
