McIlroy! McIlroy! Peyton talks smack to Tiger

RSS

Tiger Woods loves to talk trash, and so does Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.

Manning is famous for shouting signals at the line of scrimmage (Omaha! Omaha!), and apparently he's used a couple of famous golfers for code words.

In an interview Friday at Bay Hill with Charlie Rymer, Manning said when he was with the Colts, "Tiger" meant the snap count was on one (for the No. 1 player in the world), and "Phil" meant the snap was on two.

So when the two famous athletes played a round together last March, Manning couldn't help but take a playful jab at Woods when he asked Manning what the big difference was between the Colts' offense and the Broncos' offense.

"Tiger, it's really similar," Manning said. "The hardest thing for me right now is that 'McIlroy' is on one, and 'Tiger' is on two."

While Manning got in a good zinger, it was Woods who had the last word.

"He looked me in the eye and said, 'I'm going to get that fixed.'"
