GolfChannel.com senior writer Randall Mell won a writing award Friday at the inaugural LPGA Global Media Awards in a ceremony at the Hotel Ermitage at the Evian Masters. Three golf writers and four photographers were recognized for their efforts in the awards that were judged by faculty and students at the University of Oregon’s Warsaw Sports Marketing Center.
Mell won for his column entitled “Undying Love” that was posted March 24 on LPGA veteran Meg Mallon and her renewed focus to golf after taking an absence to care for her dying sister Tricia, who had a rare form of abdominal cancer. Click here to read the piece in its entirety.
