Mickelson commits to BMW Championship

NORTON, Mass. – Phil Mickelson committed Friday to playing in next week’s BMW Championship.

Mickelson, however, has cautioned PGA Tour officials that his actual appearance at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in suburban Chicago still depends on how his wife, Amy, is doing, and he could withdraw if he’s needed at home. Amy is undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Mickelson missed six weeks after the U.S. Open to be with his wife and family.

Tiger Woods also committed to playing in the BMW Championship, the third event among the FedEX Cup’s four playoff events.
