Mickelson hurries to fix his putting

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – Phil Mickelson marched straight from the scoring office to the practice putting green after completing his suspended first round early Friday afternoon at the PGA Championship.

With just 38 minutes until his second round tee time, Mickelson looked like a man feeling a sense of urgency. Clearly, he was in a hurry to smooth out his form with his flat stick. He hit a series of mostly 10-foot and 5-foot putts.

Mickelson was the only player on the practice putting green until Steve Stricker popped on after he grabbed a quick lunch. Mickelson spent 20 minutes putting before literally jogging off the green and toward the clubhouse just 18 minutes before his scheduled second round tee time. If he was off to eat, it was a quick lunch.

Mickelson shot a 1-over-par 73 in the first round with 28 putts. The round, however, included two three putts.
