CHASKA, Minn. – As much as Phil Mickelson wants to play the Presidents Cup, he says there’s no guarantee he will.
He isn’t sure how much he’ll play the FedEx Cup playoffs, either.
It all depends on his wife, Amy, and her treatments for breast cancer.
“I think there’s a good chance we’ll be able to do that, but there are still some procedures we have to do over the course of the next year that will be kind of off and on,” Mickelson said. “If it fits the timeline, then I’ll be able to play. But if not, I’m certainly not going to adjust medical procedures based on golf. So we’ll see how that plays out.”
The FedEx Cup’s four playoff events begin with The Barclays Aug. 27-30 with the Presidents Cup scheduled Oct. 8-11.
