AUGUSTA, Ga. – Phil Mickelson was concerned about his game when his manager, Steve Loy, saw him early this week.
When Loy visited Mickelson’s rented home in Augusta Tuesday night, Mickelson was a different man.
Amy, Mickelson's wife, and the couple’s three children had arrived.
“Phil’s spirits lighted up,” Loy said.
Mickelson’s parents are also here. So are Amy’s parents. Loy said it’s the first time the extended family has been together at a tournament since it was made public that Amy and Phil’s mother, Mary, had breast cancer. Loy said it’s the first time they’ve all been together at a tournament since last year’s Masters. It's the first time Amy and the three children have been with Mickelson at an event since last year's The Players Championship. It was a week after The Players that news about the illnesses broke.
