Azahara Munoz of Spain shot a career-best 8-under-par 64 Thursday at Hawaii’s Ko Olina Golf Club to move into a tie for the 36-hole lead with Japan’s Ai Miyazato.
Miyazato, who shot 65, and Munoz are at 8-under 136, two shots ahead of Cristie Kerr and Jimin Kang.
Suzann Pettersen is at 5 under after a second-round 69.
Already a winner this year at the HSBC Women's Champions, Angela Stanford is at 4 under after shooting 71. She is tied with Paula Creamer, who shot 67.
World No. 1 Yani Tseng (72) and Brittany Lincicome (71) are at 3 under.
Michelle Wie was on her way to missing another cut. On the first hole, her 10th of the day, Wie hit two drives out of bounds, leading to a quadruple-bogey 9. She finished 10 over par after a 76. Wie has missed three consecutive LPGA cuts for the third time in her career.
