Moore, Grace move into top 40 in world ranking

Ryan Moore is done for the year, with his wife expecting the couple’s first child later this month.

Nice timing – he’s at a season-best 39th in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Moore’s one-stroke victory Sunday at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open vaulted the 29-year-old from 43rd to 39th in the latest rankings released Monday. It is his highest position since July 2011.

Meanwhile, South African Branden Grace won for the fourth time on the European Tour on Sunday, going wire-to-wire to capture the Dunhill Links Championship. As a result, the 24-year-old moved to a career-best 37th in the rankings, up from 49th a week ago. At the start of the year, he was ranked 271st.

The top 10 in the world remained unchanged: Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Luke Donald, Lee Westwood, Justin Rose, Adam Scott, Bubba Watson, Webb Simpson, Brandt Snedeker, Jason Dufner, respectively.
