DUNSANY, Ireland – Morgan Pressel was miffed Friday when U.S. captain Rosie Jones asked her to sit for the opening foursomes matches of the Solheim Cup. Pressel responded with four consecutive victories and was the most valuable player for the U.S. by earning four points
Playing in her third Solheim Cup, Pressel won matches with three different partners – Paula Creamer, Ryann O'Toole and Cristie Kerr – and fought back from 2 down through eight holes in singles to defeat Anna Nordqvist, 2 and 1.
'I've been playing well all week and I really, really played solid in the middle of this match,' Pressel said. 'Anna made a couple mistakes that I took advantage of, and I hit a couple good shots where I got rewarded with winning holes.'
Pressel's overall Solheim Cup record is now 7-2-2. She's 3-0 in singles.
