DUBLIN, Ohio – It’s raining at Muirfield Village. One-hundred percent chance on Thursday, according to the weatherman and at 9:16 officials pulled players from the golf course at 9:16 a.m. (ET), but anyone who knows the area could see this coming.
“Late spring, this time of year, as you know, weather is sort of a crap shoot in many ways,” tournament host Jack Nicklaus said on Wednesday. “We always have fronts coming through, and we always have some thunderstorms coming through, and sometimes we have dry weather, sometimes we get wet.”
Of course, Nicklaus also joked last year that the annual signature photo for the Memorial should be an umbrella. We think Arnold Palmer beat him to that idea, but it would be apropos.
