Must see TV at Pebble Beach

I was up early this morning to soak up the views by the 18th green at Pebble Beach. Little did I know how beautiful it was going to be. There is a huge break here at the Monterey Peninsula today that is bringing in some of the biggest surf I've ever seen and, amazingly, there is little to no wind right now. The seaspray on the edge of the 18th fairway is as high as 40 feet. It's breathtaking.

Be sure to catch our early third-round coverage. We'll be getting the best portion of the incredible surf because of high tide. It's peaking while we're on the air. You've never seen it quite like this.

I also spent quite a bit of time on the putting green this morning. I chatted up Hollywood A-lister Josh Duhamel who told me he plays golf about 3-4 times a week at Mountain Gate Country Club, just outside Los Angeles. Don Cheadle is also a  member there. Josh said his wife, Fergie (lead singer of the Black Eyed Peas), doesn't play very much but she likes to putt. He figures that's a start.

Today, many of the stars are out at Pebble Beach. Sergio Garcia is Duhamel's professional partner. Phil Mickelson is dressed in all black and he'll team with the president of Barclays, Bob Diamond, Jr.

Believe me when I say, this will be one of the most exciting rounds to see at Pebble but not because of who's playing. Today, above all others, nature will be the star.
