Chris Kirk, No. 2 on the Nationwide Tour money list heading into this week’s finale in Charleston, S.C., has withdrawn from the Tour Championship and will be on the disabled list for the next three to four weeks with a fractured bone in his left wrist.
Kirk said the injury occurred during last week’s Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open but it wasn’t until he underwent an MRI on Wednesday that he learned of the fracture.
“I thought it wasn't going to be a big deal. I thought it was going to be fine. Each day I was thinking it would get a little bit better and I'd be fine,” said Kirk, who will attend Sunday’s PGA Tour card presentation in Charleston. “My hand has been broken for a week and I just didn't realize it.”
