In her first TV interview since she became one of the first two female members at Augusta National, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told CNBC on Wednesday that she plays golf about “2-3 times per week” and boasts a 14-handicap index.
Rice, 57, who only began playing in 2005, lives about five minutes from the Stanford University Golf Course and likes to get out on the course a few times per week in the summer. When school begins, however, she’ll likely play only once a week.
“If I can get better from 100 yards and in,” she told Larry Kudlow of “The Kudlow Report,” “then (her handicap) will plummet.”
On Aug. 20, Rice and South Carolina financier Darla Moore became the first female members at Augusta National since the club was founded in 1932.
