No fluke: Lewis a proven winner on LPGA

A winner on the LPGA for the second time last week, Stacy Lewis values the Mobile Bay Classic as much as her major breakthrough last year at the Kraft Nabisco Championship.

'I just kind of wanted to show that the major wasn't a fluke and to show people that I can win out here and compete,' said Lewis on Tuesday's 'Morning Drive.' 'I want to keep moving up the world rankings. I have some goals with that.'

After staring down Yani Tseng for her first win at Mission Hills, Lewis had to hold off teen phenom Lexi Thompson. Lewis lauded her Alabama rival.

'She's just a great girl. She's a great talent. Over the last year she's grown up a lot. She's had to. She's been thrown into the spotlight,' Lewis said. 'When she made that back-nine charge, it definitely got me worried and put a lot of pressure on me.'

The Arkansas product, however, said she thrives in those situations.

'I love it. That's what I play for, to get in contention down the stretch, to have to hit putts and hit shots. That's the best part about what we do,' she said.
