PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Juli Inkster won’t be retiring anytime soon with her game reviving, but she says she has no interest in playing in next year’s Solheim Cup.
Inkster, who turned 50 on Thursday, is an assistant captain for Rosie Jones and the American squad scheduled to play Europe in Ireland next year.
“I am not playing,” Inkster insisted. “Why? I feel like I’ve done it, enjoyed it and have great memories. But it’s time for the younger players to get out there.”
Inkster’s in the hunt to win her eighth major championship after opening with a 71 at the LPGA Championship.
