No sleep in South Korea

CHASKA, Minn. – How big would Y.E. Yang winning the PGA Championship be in South Korea?

Michael Yim, one of Yang’s agents, said it would have greater magnitude than Se Ri Pak winning the U.S. Women’s Open at Blackwolf Run in 1998. It would rival Jung-Mo Yang’s gold medal victory at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. Yang became the first South Korean to win an Olympic gold medal under the South Korean flag.

“Y.E. winning would be huge, with the biggest sports victories in South Korean history,” Yim said.

There could be a sleepy work force in South Korea on Monday. Yang tees off in the final round with Tiger Woods at 1:45 p.m. (CT). Much of South Korea figures to be up watching even though it will be 2:45 a.m. there.
