Ochoa content in her life away from golf


RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. ' Lorena Ochoa stepped off the stage in the Kraft Nabisco Championship media room Saturday and immediately stopped at the scoring computer to check the leader board.

Ochoa, making a special guest appearance as part of her foundation activities, said fans ask her about the tour all the time.

They ask, `Do you miss playing, do you miss winning? Ochoa said. I say yes, for sure, but I dont miss all the things. I dont miss the traveling and all the practice.

Ochoa said she would like to play tournament golf again someday but maybe once a year. Ochoa said she would like to return to play in the Kraft Nabisco again.

I would love to play it just for fun, said Ochoa, whose 27 LPGA titles included the 08 Kraft Nabisco. I dont see myself playing full time again.

Ochoa, 30,gave birth to her first child, Pedro, three months ago. She said she is fulfilled in her family role and in her work with the Lorena Ochoa Foundation.

We try to reach out to minorities, especially families of little girls, little boys,' Ochoa said. 'We are very worried about the health issue, very focused on that.

Ochoa made her special appearance Saturday as part of Lorena Ochoas Unforgettable Roll Putting Contest. The finals were held on the Dinah Shore Course's 18th greenfollowing the third round. The competition benefitsfamilies in crisis.
