Ogilvy out with ailing shoulder

Geoff Ogilvy withdrew from the Wells Fargo Championship on Tuesday to rest an ailing right shoulder that started to impact his play at the Masters.

On Friday he Tweeted: “I have been in a hyperbaric chamber (the) last two days and I must say I do feel very oxygenated,” and according to his swing coach Dale Lynch, “hopefully he’s OK for (The Players Championship).” The Australian was sidelined earlier this year when he injured his finger surfing in Hawaii.

The Players is already struggling with a thinning field. Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy passed on Sawgrass months ago and Tiger Woods and defending champion Tim Clark are struggling with injuries.
